Crouching
Yoda, Hidden Saber If you got the impression that Jedi Master Yoda is a frail old muppet, you are very wrong. After seeing Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, I have a new favorite character. Simply put, Yoda is bad ass. He has proven that he is the ultimate Jedi Master. Pictured above is Yoda using the old "lightning bolts up your ass" trick that the evil Emperor Palpatine used in Return of the Jedi. When it comes to
lightsaber skills, Yoda also takes the cake. He jumps around like a
monkey on crack. I have never seen so many back-flips, forward-flips,
and even side-flips in one scene. And let's face it, he's not exactly an
easy target to hit. He has the smallest strike zone that I have ever
seen. John Williams shines
through as usual with the musical score. His use of the themes for each
character does an amazing job of telling the story as well as foreshadowing
the future. This is another concept that only works in a prequel. I can't talk about ANY Star Wars movies without bringing up the visual effects. Once again George Lucas would settle for nothing less than perfection. He has produced flawless cinematography that is light years ahead of anything you have ever seen. When the original Star Wars was released in 1977 the visual effects left film-goers with their jaws dropped to the floor in amazement, and this is no exception. If you like Star Wars, go see this movie. I would place it as my second favorite Star Wars film, just below The Empire Strikes Back. And here's some more good news - Jar Jar Binks only makes a few brief appearances. Lucas appears to have returned to R2-D2 and C3-PO as his sources of comic relief.
