Move, I'm Late!

I experienced a moment of extreme irony this morning on my way to work. Well maybe it wasn't irony as much as it was just being annoyed by someone who didn't practice what they preach.

I was running late this morning on my way to work (something new there) so I was driving a little bit faster than the legal speed limit (another new thing for me). I seemed to be making good time until I came around this one corner and ended up behind a big, white Ford F-150 pickup truck.

This big white pickup truck was going just under the speed limit.  26 Miles Per Hour to be exact.  The real irony is the vanity plate that this truck had.  The exact reading was "MVIML8", or "Move I'm Late" if you spell it out.  What is wrong with this picture?  They actually took the time and spent the money to buy this vanity plate, only to drive UNDER the posted speed limit.  I actually thought about yelling "Move, I'm late" out my window to the driver, but I don't know if he or she would have fully appreciated my message.

So please, if you're going to get a vanity plate so that you can pretend that you are better than the rest of us, then please, live by it.  Otherwise, why are you spending the extra money on something that you don't believe in.  That is like getting a tattoo of your favorite metal band back in the 80's, only to realize that they are all dead from heroin overdoses in the 90's.  Sometimes things change.
